AWIS历史

自1971年成立以来，AWIS一直扎根于STEM社会正义倡导。受妇女权利和民权运动的启发，并受到自己职业生涯中不公正的沮丧，三十五名妇女建立了AWIS，为所有科学妇女创造了公平的职业。

AWIS倡导历史
AWIS在1960年代和1970年代承担了激进的风险，在政治和社会动荡的时代，作为改变景观的数字少数群体的一部分。

1975年，AWIS与NAACP（全国有色人种促进协会）合作，赢得了针对民权办公室的诉讼，以在性别和种族的基础上歧视高等教育。
